Nelson is a super friendly guy. He loves attention and is very social. Although he was found stray, he is so used to humans that we think his owners released him "into the wild" where domestic rabbits usually survive for less than 72 hours. He is very energetic and loves to race around during exercise time. If you feel like you've been abandoned and boxed up, then you and Nelson have a lot in common. He would love to hear your story, so come talk to him during visiting hours!
Sun Bun has been at the shelter for over six months, and it hasn't been easy on her sensitive personality. She is a very skittish bunny, but you can hold her easily, and pick her up easily. If she could get more attention or be in a foster situation I think she would really bloom. She doesn’t run when you go to pick her up, instead she crouches and waits. She is fine once you pick her up. Rascal Bumblebee is a small neutered English Spot mix. He is very gentle and doing so well with his litterbox, that he is now on display in a pen at the Watsonville Animal Shelter. He is going to show all of the other rabbits how to be a proper house rabbit. He previously lived in a filthy backyard yard hutch and really appreciates being safe and fed properly. Every time we feed him, he always seems confused and looks at us like "Is this for me?" He does not seem like he has had a lot of kindness in his short life but is taking all he can get his paws on. He will be living at the Watsonville Animal Shelter around 7-20-08.. Onion is a very playful and active Mini-Rex. He loves to play in his Cottontail Cottage and thinks it is the greatest toy ever invented for rabbits. He must have one in his new home. He is very easy to handle and hold and is also very interested in other rabbits and cats. He loves exercise time, and aside from a small guilt trip, he is easy to put back in his kennel. He is currently living at the Watsonville Animal Shelter. Contact Lara for more info at laraadam@msn.com or 831-818-5814.

Yogurt learned the hard way that setting your pet rabbit loose, did not make him “free”, it made him “food”. He is very lucky to have survived being attacked by a predator like a dog or raccoon. He is also extremely lucky that Good Samaritan brought him to the Watsonville Animal Shelter so he would be safe. Considering a predator tried to eat him, he does not hold any grudges around the shelter cats and quickly let them know that he is the boss during playtime. He is a very sweet, gentle, and easy going bunny so we decided he needed a 2nd Chance to find a family that will protect him and return all of the love he has to give. White bunnies with blue eyes are not very common so he will need a special family to appreciate how beautiful he is. He is currently living at the Watsonville Animal Shelter. Lois is the largest of 21 rabbits that were seized from a backyard in Watsonville. She likes to be petted and loves to eat. Blueberries are one of her favorite things. She is a little shy at first but then she is easy to handle and even seems to like to be held by adults. She is perfect with her litterbox and likes to perch on top of her house and check everything out. She also loves tunnels and her Cottontail Cottage so be sure to have lots of toys for her to play in. She is spayed, microchipped, and ready for a new home. She gets along well with our new guinea pig, Honey Pot. Do you have a bunny that needs a friend? She is currently living at the Watsonville Animal Shelter.
Paris

Paris was purchased as a baby bunny and housed with several birds. When she was about six months old, her owner brought her to the shelter.

Unfortunately, at some point during her young life she became very fearful of humans and would often grunt, lunge and sometimes bite when approached. But after living for several months with one of our foster bunny families - who also sponsored having her spayed - she has made great progress toward overcoming her fear and will snuggle and readily accept petting from people she knows and trusts. She's made such good progress, in fact, that she's now ready to be adopted into a "Forever Home." However, she needs a relatively quite home with people who are very experienced with bunnies with emotional neeeds such as hers.

Paris is staying in a sanctuary home in Alameda.

The photo shows her while she's out playing in the bunny corral at her sanctuary home.

If you would like to meet Paris, please contact her sanctuary family at: stigerfrey@alamedanet.net
