On the left is Sparkle, posing with her late "husbun" Sparky.
Sparky passed away unexpectedly on 6/22/2006, due to a previously unknown heart condition.
Sparkle is a BIG New Zealand White.
They were brought to the animal shelter because they were no longer wanted after Sparkle gave birth.
On 3/23/2006 Sparkle was spayed by Dr. Rebecca Arntz at VCA Bay Area Animal Hospital in Oakland.
SPECIAL NEEDS: Both of Sparkle's eyes, which are normally pink, are clouded over. She was examined by Dr. Carolynn Harvey and Dr. Rebecca Arntz, and the diagnosis was initially thought to be glaucoma. She seems to have only minor vision impairment, although it is slowly getting worse. In any event, this does not prevent her from being adopted.
Sparkle is staying in a sanctuary home in Alameda.
